Modifying Baycom/TNC for Handheld Radio on Packet

This connection system will work with most Handhelds using 3.5mm & 2.5mm Jack connections for the Earphone & Microphone on Handhelds, although I use it on the ICOM IC-4SE.

This MOD is for Handheld Radio's using 2 jack plugs. most configurations are 2.5mm Mono Jack: MIC/PTT - 3.5mm Mono Jack: Earphone some handhelds the oposite is used. Check your radio's sockets before you make any connections. I have used a few Handhelds on my Baycom with Amiga A1200,what you need to do with with the PTT line and the MIC line either on your Baycom board or in the wires from it, insert a 2.2k Resistor the resistor bands are Red Red Red Gold It is a good idea to insert a 100nf Capacitor in the MIC line to remove any DC, although this is not absolutely neccessary for operation.

Although this modification works!, I cannot accept responsibility for any damage or loss caused.
